Residents Still Target Beef and Sugar in Bazaar

Residents flocking staple food bazaar held at Grogol Market yard, West Jakarta, Wednesday (6/8).

Residents are still targeting beef and sugar

Mostly the residents are targeting beef and sugar since the price margin with traditional market is quite high.

The bazaar is part of Festival Jakarta Great Sale (FJGS). FJGS is held to commemorate Jakarta’s anniversary. The bazaar is held since Saturday (6/4) up to July 17 at 20 traditional markets in Jakarta.

“Residents are still targeting beef and sugar,” said Edi Basuki, market head, Wednesday (6/8).

In the bazaar, fore shank is sold Rp 85 thousand/kg, shank Rp 89 thousand/kg, and soup bone Rp 75 thousand/kg.

“Nowadays, beef sold at the market is Rp 110 thousand to 120 thousand/kg. Residents are able to buy beef up to three kilograms.

In the third day of the bazaar, only few people buying chili and cooking oil.

“Cooking oil at supermarket is cheaper. The price has declined now,” he closed.
